- My work is mostly inspired by the Memento Mori or Vanitas themes from the 17th century translated into contemporary iconology. My paintings have a limited palette of five basic colours painted on wooden panels. Typical features are the use of high contrasts and my preference for grey greens and 'old' blue colours. This is also the case in the more recently painted portraits and nudes. I am co-founder of the Art Group Holanda, an international art platform focused on the intergration of different cultures through art. (www.ag-h.nl). And the Barce Foundation a Dutch/Brazilian foundation to help disabled people (www.barcefoundation.org)
